A Guide to Men’s Eyewear
According to the Vision Council of America, there’s about 75% of people in the country that uses some form of vision correction and that’s not even counting the men who just want to wear glasses for the sake of vanity.
Even if you think that your eyes are perfect 20/20, you should think about an eyewear that would go well with your face, something that would blend and make you look attractive all the more because as you age, you will really have to give eyeglasses a thought so it would help to know what kind of men’s eyewear would suit your face.
Some people want to wear glasses that are unobtrusive or unnoticeable but it seems that it’s not possible since you would only look like a man behind thin glasses and it may not even look great in your face. Having the glasses seem to vanish on your face is not at all possible unless you wear contact lenses and it they are to look invisible on your face, you have trouble finding them when you take them off.
On some, it may even take a strong profile and make it look less striking. More modern fashions have accepted the idea of glasses as an expression of style the same as a necktie or a pocket square. Shape and even colors of frames can become a part of your visual identity. Men should look at eyewear as an accessory, something that would also complement their style or be the key to their outfit.
First, you should figure out the shape of your face and what your face is lacking and use the frame to fill it in for you. An angular face with lots of lines and planes should get rounded glasses to some curves in there. A face with curving features will do great in straight of angled glasses. At least, that’s the basic rule when it comes to men’s eyewear but because there’s more than two types of faces, there are more rules to learn as well.
Round faces for instance should get an eyewear that would make the face look slimmer and angular. Flat, rectangular lenses will make the face appear longer and thinner so it’s perfect for rounded faces.
Square faces on the other hand should wear glasses that would soften their features since it’s more angled. Rounded glasses should work well with these kinds of faces.
